Two years ago I started doing voluntary work at Moto e. V.: The organizers and supporters of the motorcycle rallies in Berlin, Dresden, Düsseldorf and Oldenburg have grown into a team. The response to the events was overwhelming, but at the same time, along the way, the realization matured that it would not be done with the rallies alone. To bring motorcycle riders into focus and to the ear of the public as fully-fledged road users.

The topic is current, but one-sided limited to road users of the driving license class A (in Germany). Our goal is to keep the focus on the topic of „noise emissions from traffic“ and to find a sustainable, socially acceptable solution.

Moto e.V. is committed to a socially acceptable implementation and the preservation of our passion with civil means without hate and exclusion. Moto is the anchor and home of all like-minded people. We are peaceful but not dumb, argumentative but without aggression; determined but not decisive, freedom-loving but not egoistic, ecological but not fanatical, political but not party-political. We are integrative and social. Searching and finding new ways is in our nature and in front of our wheels.

Now to come to my role in Moto: I am currently responsible for our Social Media presence on Instagram and Facebook together with my colleague Anika Schmidt. We work together to plan campaigns and make our online presence more accessible to our followers. I also help out at events that we organize to bring motorcyclists and residents of hot-spots together to find a way to coexist.

Our next event will be on June 26, 2022 at Imbiss & Bikertreff Serpentine in Nideggen.

Hello fellow riders! I hope you will enjoy my posts.

My name is Hilâl and I am from Germany. My family originally comes from Turkey, so I grew up bilingual. In my free time I love to play volleyball and of course travel on my motorcycles. Yes, I used the plural, but we will get to that later.
I got interested in motorcycles when I was about to get my drivers license at 17. Unfortunately my parents were not too amused about the idea of me riding a motorcycle, as they could only see the danger coming towards me. So instead of getting the license for both cars and motorcycles, I only got one for cars. Big mistake as it turned out: the costs for the combined license was way lower than getting them separately.

Hili_Moto First Motorcycle Ride in 2012

The first time I sat on a motorcycle was as a pillion rider on my boyfriend’s bike. I loved the adrenalin rush! So I joined him on a lot of rides and met some really nice riders from Aachen, who shared the same love for motorcycles. It was only after I talked to one of the female riders in the group that I got the courage to say “Okay I want to ride my own motorcycle” and so I got the license. Thanks to Kerstin on this note ❤ You will always be my best riding friend!
